The Great Smog of India
BOOK REVIEWENVIRONMENT

It's not only a powerful and impactful read but is also a highly relevant book to read in contemporary times. It not only portrays a grim reality of the environment where we live in, but at the same time, also gives you a vision to look forward to. It will make you think, it will make you introspect, and it will certainly make you question what’s happening. From basic details about how air pollution is caused to the array of contemporary reasons that escalate the problem, the book is a thoroughly researched and well-articulated attempt at making the readers understand what exactly the problem that we are dealing with. One of the best things about the book is the simplicity of the language used therein. I think it’s necessary given the fact that the book is about something that concerns us all. Hence, the complexity of language would’ve probably achieved literary recognition but not the very purpose. It’s a holistic reflection of the reality. It’ll give you statistical insights. I like books that help me form a well-informed image of the issue in my mind, and this book worked for me. It’s important that the reading is taken seriously, given the importance of the matter at hand. We certainly need more information on the issue, and this book is just a step in that very direction.
